The People-First Leadership Approach
The People First Principal provides leadership coaching for principals, district leaders, and aspiring school administrators who want to build strong, people-centered school communities.

This approach is grounded in the belief that the success of a school or district depends on how leaders cultivate trust, inclusion, and meaningful communication. When educators feel valued and supported, they are empowered to do their best work, and school culture strengthens as a result.

Through leadership coaching, workshops, and small-group development experiences, the work supports school leaders in strengthening the skills that foster collaboration, build trust, and create sustainable, positive school cultures.

The work is rooted in real-world school leadership experience and focused on helping leaders create environments where both educators and students can thrive.

The People Behind the Work
The People First Principal was founded by school leader Nick Grimshaw, whose experience as a principal and educator shaped the foundation of this work.

Having served in both middle and elementary school settings, Nick has worked closely with teachers and leadership teams to support school-wide initiatives, strengthen staff culture, and navigate the day-to-day realities of school leadership.

As the work continues to grow, The People First Principal brings together experienced school leaders and educators who understand the challenges of leading in today’s educational environments and are committed to supporting schools and districts in meaningful, practical ways.
